Crown Timber plc currently operates from four terminals located at major commercial ports in the UK and Ireland. Crown has dedicated facilities for indoor and open air storage at each terminal plus modern, low pressure treatment centres, and one high pressure, to protect the softwood against insect or fungal infection.
Scottish Distribution Terminal at Dundee, Scotland
Scotland is an important market for timber frame manufacturing and has pioneered many initiatives in the sector. It is also a buoyant region for roof truss manufacturing and has been quick to introduce engineered wood products, especially floor framing systems, into the building process.
The Scottish distribution terminal and treatment centre, which comprises two modern low-pressure treatment plants, is well sited on the East coast and is able to provide a rapid delivery service to customers in Scotland and North-East England.

The New Holland terminal situated on the south side of the Humber estuary, opposite Hull, has traditionally been the company's major operation serving a broad range of customers throughout England and Wales.
The terminal holds substantial stocks of both softwood and engineered wood products, and includes a treatment centre comprising two modern low-pressure plants. The Humberside terminal provides a just-in-time delivery service to customers across central and Northern England and in Wales.
Southern Distribution Terminal at Sheerness, Kent ( click for detailed map)
In partnership with Peel Ports, one of the UK's largest port operators, Crown Timber has opened a new and larger Southern Distribution Terminal at Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppey.
With storage capacity for up to 20,000m3 of timber including extensive under cover space, plus three treatment plants (two low pressure and one high), the Terminal which became fully operational in June this year, significantly improves Crown Timber's offering to the South of England and the Midlands.
It carries the full Crown Timber range of structural whitewood products for timber engineering customers together with products for timber and builder's merchants.
Irish Distribution Terminal and Treatment Centre at Wicklow, Ireland
The first Crown Timber facility in Ireland opened in January 2001 dedicated to supplying the expanding markets in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Upgraded in October 2003 with the installation of a new treatment plant, response times for treated timber are better than ever and a new link road from the R750, completed earlier this year, has greatly improved vehicle access to the Crown Terminal.
