Softwood
Crown Timber co-operates with sector-leading Nordic sawmilling firms and purchases its products directly from these companies. These structural products are already kiln-dried, packaged to length in standard-size packages, fully wrapped and where applicable planed and strength graded at source.

The timber is shipped from the ports of Hamina in Finland and Kalmar in Sweden in vessels which are chartered by Crown on long term contracts. Full cargoes are delivered to Crown’s distribution terminals in England, Scotland and Ireland.

Engineered Wood
Crown Timber is the sole distributor in the UK and Ireland for the range of engineered wood products manufactured by Boise Cascade in the USA at plants in Alexandria, Louisiana and White City, Oregon.

Crown Timber distributes a full range of Boise BCI® Joists and Versa-Lam® beams and headers from its Humberside distribution terminal, and offers a multi-product delivery service, combining engineered wood with structural softwood and with Egger panel products, to manufacturers throughout the UK and Ireland.

Treatment
Any packs of softwood can be treated against both insect and fungal infection, before delivery to customers, at the modern low pressure treatment plants located at each of Crown Timber’s softwood distribution terminals.

Distribution
Crown has a national distribution network covering the whole of the UK and Ireland from its distribution terminals in Humberside, Scotland, Southern England, and Ireland. Stock is held at these four distribution terminals to ensure quick and easy selection for delivery according to individual customer requirements and forecasts.

Crown Timber provides a guaranteed ‘Just in Time’ delivery service, delivering an exact number of packs in specific lengths, sizes, grades and treatment process to suit customers’ exact requirements. Standard delivery lead-times are 48 hours if untreated and 72 hours if the delivery includes treated packs.
